I saw Dean speak Thursday at a Vistage meeting. There’s a reason he’s the most requested speaker on their circuit, and it’s not because he is the most polished or the most eloquent. (He is, by the way, polished and eloquent — but that ain’t the point…)
It’s because he breaks it down to simple, deployable thoughts, motivations, tactics and strategies.
And the simplest, in the quote above, is the very first line of his book.
If you’ve been through the “big name” sales trainings — and I’ve been through them all — Dean’s approach is freshly representative of the best of all of them, without the girth and unwieldiness of most of them. He’s a “north-and-south runner” in a “juke-your-way-to-negative-yardage” world.
