“Reunited and it feels so…”
– partial lyric from the Peaches & Herb hit, circa 1978
In the business sense, for you, what does it feel like?
(This week will be devoted to your questions. Either enter them in the comments section below, or e-mail them to steve@thehestongroup.com. This week’s Daily Difference will look at the next phase of business through your eyes…)
Back to the unfinished lyric…
Some masks are coming off. Some venues are re-opening. Some stadiums are removing restrictions. Some concert tours are being announced.
Some local and state government agencies are still steadfastly requiring masks. Some venues are remaining closed.
And, no matter what a company, government agency, school or entity does — it’s hearing about it from people on either side of whatever decision they make…
This past weekend, I encountered three cases where retail locations were “open,” but were either closing early or closed all day because they couldn’t get enough people to work. One executive shared with me a story about an ag company offering $100,000+ jobs — but having no applicants.
It’s as if a race were starting, and some competitors are in the starting blocks, others are milling about the check-in area while others are still in the training room, stretching and tieing their shoes just right.
That’s not a commentary on who’s right and who’s wrong.
It’s an observation about where we are in a business cycle that will be one of the most chronicled and debated in our history.
This week, the Diff will delve into the questions that are top of mind for you:
What questions would you like to be a part of the conversation?
What excites you the most about this next phase of business?
What concerns you the most about this next phase of business?
Fill in the blank: For me in my role / business, the best way to make a difference going forward will be to _________________…
