“The question isn’t who’s going to let me; it’s who’s going to stop me.”
– Ayn Rand, Russian born author of “Atlas Shrugged” (d. 1982)
What are some of the questions that stop us?
“Has anyone ever done this before?”
“What will it cost if we do that?”
“Who else is doing it?”
“Who will get the blame if this doesn’t work?”
What a difference it will make when we lead with these questions instead…
“Wow! No one’s done this before, I wonder why didn’t I think of ______ sooner?”
“How cool would it be to be the first to accomplish ________?”
“Why isn’t anyone else doing ________?”
“How can we share the credit when we get _______ accomplished?”
Questions are important. Make a difference by asking the kind that point you toward possibilities, instead of obstacles.
