“If you’re not willing to learn, no one can help you. If you are determined to learn, no one can stop you.”
– Zig Ziglar (1926 – 2012)
Zig was the first motivational / sales speaker I ever experienced. Over the years, I realize that much of his material was fairly “skim the surface,” and didn’t probe, dig or get to they “why?”
What he was though, and remains, is an inspiration. A motivator. And Zig was, and still is, a difference maker.
“I’m gonna give you a check up,” he’d drawl, and then pause for effect, “from the neck up.“
Attitude and intent were the primary drivers of Zig’s approach, and if our attitude and intent are good, there’s a steering effect on everything else we do. A net-positive steering effect, which carries through to everything else we do.
