“Why build a $1 billion company when you can build a $100 million company?”
Jalem, the founder of BuyCostumes.com and now Wantable.com, spoke recently at a BizStarts Milwaukee event. His point was magical to the entrepreneurs in the room, and it should be magical to all of us. It’s a different game to become the biggest than it is to become one of the best.
It’s so easy to dream about being the next Steve Jobs, or the next Sam Walton or Richard Branson or — heck, for that matter, the next Jalem Getz. Jalem’s done very well, thank you! But, Jalem would not endorse that “me, too” approach. He prescribes knowing what you want to be / do and being / doing it, relentlessly.
Know who we are.
Be who we are.
No one can out do us if that’s our end-in-mind.
P. S.
It is a real honor to have been named to BizStarts Milwaukee’s Board of Directors. Great organization. Check it out!
