“There can be no vulnerability without risk; there can be no community without vulnerability; there can be no peace, and ultimately no life, without community.”
– M. Scott Peck
All we’ve left for this week on knowing is knowing “who.”
We can’t do it on our own. Regardless of where you stand on matters of Higher Power, we simply can’t make a difference unless we are part of a community.
Now, who we include in that community is critical. And, if our ultimate goal is to know how to do a thing — how to go forward — how to make a difference, who we surround ourselves with matters a lot.
Input, feedback, accountability — all critical elements of growth — and they come from our community.
Choose wisely those we add to our community. Who we hang with and engage with is telling. They will help us know what to do, when to do it. They’ll keep us true to our sense of “Why?” And, with those ingredients in place, we’ll know how.
The Daily Difference goes to the sidelines until June 13th. A long-awaited break with my bride of 15 years (plus one day) awaits.
Until then, may your difference-making continue!
