“The reason people find it so hard to be happy is that they always see the past better than it was, the present worse than it is and the future less resolved than it will be.”
– Marcel Pagnol, French writer and philosopher (1895-1974)
Someone always has it worse than we do.
In most of our cases, the ratio is about 9 or 10 million to one. In other words, right now, this instant, as you read this message, there are about 9 or 10 million people on earth who WOULD trade places with you for every one who wouldn’t.
That there is a powerful fact.
On our worst day, someone — likely someone very close to us — has it worse.
And there, but for the grace of God, go we.
More thankful?
Yeah. We ought to be. It will make a difference.
