“If you are close to it, the spray will wet you. If you are not, you will remain dry.”
– C. S. Lewis in Mere Christianity
Ain’t that the truth! Proximity and time are two of the most important determinations we’ll make. Whom will we spend our time with, and how much of it will we invest?
Who we hang around with is critical to energy and positive direction. My good friend, Randy Watson, with whom I get to spend most of Friday, has a credo that he delivers tongue-in-cheek: “If I wasn’t me, I’d want to hang around with me all the time!” And you know what? He’s right. He would. For me and others that know him, Randy is an energy fountain, and whenever you’re around him, the “spray” gets on you. In the best possible way.
Challenge: Make a list of the positive energy fountains in your life. Acknowledge them and thank them. And then, prioritize time with and near them. Because if we don’t, we’ll dry up.
