“If we can avoid doing something, we will.”
- Jensen Huang, Co-founder and CEO of Nvidia
File this one under not wearing our busy-ness as a badge of honor.
The to-do list likely won’t get shorter unless we take a razor blade (chain saw?) to it.
Huang suggests focusing on what is both essential and foundational at the expense of luxuries or “nice-to-haves” (quotation marks are mine, not his).
The Heston Group suggests that most sales teams play “less often, and more better.” And, “more better” is a technical term here. Engaging where we have a chance to win makes us grow faster, sweat less and gnash fewer teeth, and tear less clothing.
Make a new list: things we won’t do, and then breathe in the reward of having more time to do the things we must do, better.
