“A dream will always triumph over reality, once it is given the chance.”
- Stanislaw Lem, as featured in The Monday Morning Memo on January 6, 2025
“Our brain contains about 100 million sensory receptors,” Lem continues, “allowing us to see, hear, taste, touch and smell. That same brain also contains 10-thousand-billion synapses, which means we’re 100,000 times better equipped to experience a world that does not exist, than one that does.“
So, if I pivot to Marcus Buckingham‘s book The One Thing You Need to Know, we learned that if our goal is to manage, we start with the person. If our goal is to lead, we start with a picture.
If you read Lem’s bio, you’ll see that he was, at least a little, biased, seein’s how he was a pioneer in virtual reality. But if you read my bio, and I read yours, so are we. And so are all of our Clients.
Ideas are the currency of Difference Makers. Stories are the best way to convey ideas. And stories with pictures are always easier to consume, right?
Reality will always be here. Our dreams and ideas are our best bet to improve our reality when we come back to it.
