“Blame is a currency in which I choose not to trade.”
– Steve Heston
“It’s easy to print a lot of, but it’s still not worth much.”
– Marc Clingaman, a long-time golf buddy
Tuesday afternoon, Marc and I were catching up after a couple years. We somehow got on the topic of “blame,” and the exchange you just read took place.
It was sheer brilliance on his part, and it reminded me of the perils of the easy path.
Woulda, Shoulda and Coulda are the easy path, and while they might be the Tinkers, Evers and Chance of wasted time, difference makers have to be careful of which currency they choose to trade.
Credit, encouragement, collaboration and creativity are better currencies. As for blame, well few, if any, are more worthless.
Thanks, Clinger Dinger! You made a difference today!
