“I’m back in the saddle again…”
– Lyric from either Gene Autry or Aerosmith, depending on your mood…
I mean, seriously, that sorta has to crack you up, right? Gene Autry and Steven Tyler? Contrast and compare!
That said, it is good to be back in the saddle. Leading a team of good people. Setting strategy and executing it. Developing talent and opening doors.
As we go through a career, we have ample opportunity to figure out where we get the most of us out of us. We have ample opportunity to learn, live and grow.
And we have ample opportunities to change.
It’s been a consistent theme across my career, driving meaningful change. Growing careers, “unleashing the hounds” and re-energizing a business. Change, it’s been written, will only occur when the fear of change is overcome by the pain of remaining the same. But it need not always be driven by pain. For the 1300 clients and 40 or so people I’ve been Blessed to care for, the change will be ours for the making, ours for the taking. Together. Back in the saddle.
