“Harder to work, harder to strive, harder to be glad to be alive.”
– Lyric from “Easy” by Cowboy Mouth
“Scream and wave your hands like you’re glad to be alive.” Fred LeBlanc says it half a dozen times in every concert.
Even if screaming and waving your hands is not your style, being glad to be alive is a foundation stone that can’t be dislodged.
It is, in fact, harder to work than to live off someone else, or the government dole. It is, in fact, harder to strive than accept the status quo. Another lyric in the song suggests that it’s “easy to bitch, easy to whine….” and it is.
There are days that being glad to be alive takes effort. There are days that it would be SO much easier to bitch and whine. And on those days, when we work, strive and are glad to be alive, we WILL make a difference.
In the end, it’s all we can do. And it’s enough to make a difference.

Is Cowboy Mouth on the 23 12 greatest songs of all time? Sounds like I need to tune in to them. Thanks Steve.
