“I wish I could tell you it gets better. It doesn’t. You get better.”
– Joan Rivers (1933 – 2014), American comedienne, quoted in the March 29, 2021 Monday Morning Memo
When we refer to “it,” we’re ceding control of what we can control.
When we refer to “things” we’re drawing our focus away from what will make a difference. What we will do next.
“It” might bet better, or “it” might not. “Things” might improve, or “things” might not.
We will get better. If we decide to.
If we decide to get better, to improve every day, we will. If we focus on what we will do next we will be difference makers.
