The One Thing That Matters Most…

“…is what we do, next!”

Someone we know has a job they love.  They’re excited to hit it every morning.  They’re engaged. There are tons of things on their to-do list, and they can’t wait to do them.  What matters most?  What they do, next.

Someone we know has a job they hate.  They groan out loud when the alarm goes off.  They’re disengaged and their leader isn’t there for them.  They don’t have enough to do, and they dread doing it.  What matters most?  What they do, next.

Someone we know is on a roll.  They’re crushing it.  Their kids are 4.0’s, captains of the teams and president of the student body.  Their business is growing.  Their vacations are awesome.  Everything they do turns out great.  What matters most?  What they do, next.

Someone we know can’t buy a break.  They’re getting crushed.  Everything they try blows up, turns sideways or otherwise misses the mark.  What matters most?  What they do, next.

There’s nothing we can do about anything that already happened, except learn from it and apply it to what we do, next.
